Freedom Tour is now in Ottawa, Ontario!
Last Updated: Saturday November 11 2006
The freedom tour supports the efforts of the legions of brave men and women who put their lives on the line fighting for the freedoms of the generations to come. The struggle for rights and freedoms requires constant effort,--this tour is designed to be a peaceful contributor to that cause.
The freedom tour is a Hemp Based Roller Blading Pilgrimage, designed to educate and bring awareness to issues about freedom and what the role of public servants is supposed to be. Also we want to expose the dangers and costs associated with the prohibition of drugs, which serves to increase the abuse of drugs and cause disrespect towards our justice system.

It was cold and wet for remembrance day here in Ottawa. I arrived at the event at approximately 8:00 am. Upon making contact with the legion organizers, I was given special status and was given a seat (which I gave up to a vet.) in the special guest section. I was warmly received by all those that I talked to. I introduced myself to all the media I could find and gave them my contact info. Stephen Harper got to shake my hand and congratulate me on making it to Ottawa. I stood next to a political student who works in the P.M.O. and talked to her about what the role of public servants was intended to be and what freedom is. (I opinioned that Mr. Harper probably wouldn't like my ideas very much) After the event I talked to several police officers about L.E.A.P. and gave out several info packs. I will follow up on the media contacts I was given over the next seveal days before finding a way to get back to Vancouver. (I am exhausted and look forward to being at home)================
we must remain vigilant in the never-ending struggle for freedom from oppression.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the freedomtours successful inaugural run.

Freedom Tour 2006
Post November 10 / 2006
Its overcast and mild HERE IN OTTAWA! I arrived approximately 11:30 pm Thursday by bus from Sudbury. I will now go and make connections and prepare for Saturday. I plan to arrive on Parliament hill apx 8:00 am and see how much media I can attract. Of course I will be very respectful to the veterans. This is all about respecting their willingness to die in the effort to protect the freedoms of future generations,us and our children. I would welcome any feedback on how to best do the job of getting out the message of freedom and truth, over the next few days. The freedomtour is indebted to many people for its success, I thank you all!Post November 07 / 2006
I will be in Ottawa on Saturday (maybe as early as Thursday.). I would welcome any assistance with media contacts etc. There should be opportunities for others who share the freedomtours ideals to speak to the issues with the media, freedom and truth are the themes of remembrance day. I've been isolated for the last few days, with only limited access to computers. I'm presently in Sudbury, after spending 2 days on Manatulin island (the closest place I've found so far to B.C. for scenery) Its the largest fresh water island in the world and will likely be the location of a freedomfest event (3 o r4 days) next year. Here in Sudbury I've visited the mayors office, the police station and an office of the Ontario attorney general, all were very accommodating, all received the info packs and the issues I presented were well received. I also went to the Hempasphere shop and was well received (the shop wants to sponsor the Manatoulin isle. freedomfest next year).Post November 04 / 2006
My time here in Thunder bay is almost done, I would like to spend more time here but I need to be in Ottawa in 8 days.had a nice visit with the Mayor yesterday, she is an intelligent and thoughtful lady who very much wanted to be against the ending of drug prohibition, but found herself only able to agree with the points that I made. When I was at staples to make copies the person who had used the copier before me left their document in the copy machine. It was one of the freedomtours originals that I had left in a copy machine in Winnipeg!! I was thrilled to be reunited with my original sheet, but even more elated to know that someone was making copies of it. I've had a few very good conversations with some Thunderbay municipal and OPP police, they were friendly and agreeable. Was warmly welcomed by Kevin at the Rainbow book/dvd store. Touched base with the local newspaper and I am now off to the Legion. I have also had good talks with some of the local people here. (everyone gets the info packs) I am being supported at this time partially by the "friend" I met in Winnipeg, he also will be supporting the tour next year. (hopefully along with other groups and individuals) Should be in Sudbury within 2 days. With remembrance day coming fast, please make plans to join me there if you can.Post November 01 / 2006
Arrived in Thunder bay last night at approx. 2:00 am local time after driving in near blizzard conditions for much of the trip, but by the time we arrived there was little if any snow on the ground to be seen. Its quite nice here (minor snow flurries) so the skating can continue. I will stay here for 3 or 4 days and hit my regular marks. Would welcome contacts from any interested parties while I'm here. Remembrance day is coming fast and I would REALLY appreciate ANY help I can get to get the message heard, i.e. media contacts, people present with or without some appropriate signage, more info to hand out etc. I continue to be overwhelmed by the amount of people who are in agreement with these issues. We are all not o.k. with being governed by amoral authorities who are abusing their powers, destroying the publics trust and wasting billions of our dollars while failing to protect the sovereignty of Canada and the rights and freedoms of individual Canadians. They act in contempt of those Canadians who have fought and died so that we could be "FREE". In honor of those patriots we must continue to be vigilant. Please support the freedom tour.We hope to see you on the next leg of our pilgrimage as the tour proceeds through Manitoba.
FreedomTour06 is the effort and dream come true of it's members and supporters.
We continue to invite compassionate, progressive and environmentally conscious corporations and individuals to partner with us as we embark on a most important endeavor. Our hemp-based, rollerblading pilgrimage is dedicated to revealing and ending the harms of drug prohibition, restoring our civil liberties and ensuring a future rich in renewable resources for generations to come.
The Freedom Tour will travel cross-country and end in Ottawa on November 12, 2006. We hope it will build momentum and we certainly feel the support. We imagine a caravan of entertainers, ducumentary filmmakers and articulate, outspoken advocates of law reform and social justice traveling from town to town hosting rallies, forums and educational dabates, activley voicing as a human beings, the intrusion against our common civil liberty in the form of prohibition and the war on drugs.
Prohibition hurts everyone. We are taking this message to Parliament Hill and we will be heard !In order to finance our journey, we are continuing to seek sponsorships from companies whose logos, message and merchandise will be featured on this tour across Canada. We currently have a couple copanies who have come forth with sponsorship and we intend to have all the details updated soon. Don't forget to bookmark our page to keep up with the events of the tour!
We have a limited number of sponsorship spots avaliable due to a finite amount of time and advertising space. If you would like to help sponsor this historic event please act quickly! We greatly appreciate any contribution you would be willing to make. All contributions will go to finance the Freedom Tour and to the case of reclaiming our basic civil liberties.
We are also searching for members of the hemp industry who are willing to supply us with earth-friendly merchandise to include in our sponsorship kits. In return, we will promote and sell your products along our pilgrimage route. If monetary compensation is necessary, we may be able to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement. Please consider this valuable opportunity to market your company across the country.
Additionally we are seeking submissions from artist, entertainers and other members of the artistic communities about how illicit drugs have affected their creative processes. Tell us all about it: the good, the bad and the ugly! Even if you cannot provide us with this kind of information, please consider taking a moment of your time writing a short note stating who you are, why you believe this tour is important and why this needs to be successful. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The DEFINITION OF FREEDOM:
In the context of the Charter and the relationship betweeen Section 7 and Section 1 thereof, this test appears to have been continued. In this regard, see the words of Dickson J. as he was then in R. v. BIG M Drug Mart Ltd. 1986, (3d) 385 at pp. 417-418:
Freedom can primarily be characterized by absence of coercion or constraint. If a person is compelled by the state or will of another to a course of action or inaction which he would not otherwise have chosen, he is not acting of his own volition then he cannot be said to be truly free. One of the major purposes of the Charter is to protect within reason, from compulsion or restraint. Coercion includes not only such latent forms of compulsions as commands to act or refrain from acting on pain of sanction, coercion included indirect forms of control which determine or limit alternative courses of conduct available to others. Freedom in the broad sense embraces both the absense of coercion and constraint, and the right to manifest beliefs and practices. Freedom means that, subject to such limitations as are necessary to protect public safety, order, health, morals or the fundamental rights and freedoms of others, no one is to be forced to act in a way contrary to his beliefs or his conscience.
