The freedom tour is a Hemp Based Roller Blading Pilgramige ,designed to educate, and bring awarness to issues about freedom and what the role of public servants is supposed to be. Also we want to expose the dangers and costs assosiated with the prohibition of drugs, which serves to increase the abuse of drugs, and cause disrespect towards our justice system.

The freedom tour has made it to Vernon. I had a nice visit with Rod and his friends in Headly. rollerbladed thru Keromeos and Penticton. Jack from Hemp City and a great group of helpers put on an awesome rally in Polson park, c/w a parade thru the downtown of Nelson. Live bands, cool venders, a beatifull park and a good crowd enjoying themselves in the sunshine, all made for a memorable experience, not to mention, lots of talk of freedom and peace. I`ll be in Vernon for a few days, and then off to Nelson for a rally on the 5th. You can find more info. @ www.freedomtour.ca, click on forums. thanks and keep thinking about freedom until my next post.

After leaving Vernon we made it to Nelson in time for the rally at Cottonwood falls, that was being put on to protest the bust of Paul D.When we first arrived we were bothered while we were enjoying some herb,by two Nelson police in a pick-up. I asked how they felt about having to enforce the evil drug prohibition laws and the turned out to be of a nazi mindset. The said they would arrest me if i broke the laws regarding cannabis. I asked them not to do that in as they were fellow canadian citizens, and if they did i would be their worst nightmare as i would explain to them at length how they are the actual criminals supporting U.S monopolies. An hour or so later after having spoken to the people at the rally, I was leading a parade down Baker St. on my rollerblades in my road warrior gear with my mega-phone followed by an ark of the covenant c/w a beautiful cannabis plant on top. When the truck with the police came by and heard me calling them public servants they turned off while covering their faces. They were not seen again and freedom ruled the afternoon in Nelson. There were much applause as we marched down the street. Later on we conducted an unbiased street pole in which we asked all passers by:

1)Should Canada end the prohibition of cannabis? 96% said yes (13 of 320 said no)

2)Should the Nelson police enforce Canada's marijuana laws? 94% said no

We then took copies of these results and left them at he police station, mayors office, news paper, and Legion. From here we went to Shambhalla had a most awesome time partly thanks to the boys at the Holy Smoke. time to go more on that soon... Think freedom, your focus becomes your reality.

Well this is our last day in Nelson.Yesterday we had a greattalk with Mayor Dooley,we were on our way to City Hall,I saw a man in a suit coming out, asked if he was the Mayor,he said he was.I introduced myself and my mission.I told him I had read in the papers that he knew nothing about cannabis,I said I was there to help to inform him as a public service, because peoples rights and freedoms were involved, and cannabis is a multi-million dollar industry in his town.He seemed like a nice human being and he listened intently to me.It was pretty perfect, though he did not say much.WE are now heading east.Although I wanted in the begining to skate every step, the death of my dog,Miss Murphy Brown, set me back time wise.Ultimately my bottom line is to skate from Vancouver to Ottawa and in B.C.I will go more miles than the distance from Van. to the Alberta boarder(apx.375 miles). Some hills going down are dangerous and some roads too rough.I enjoy the challenge of the up hill climbes(of which Nelson has had the steepest so far)I must sign off now,I will post again as soon as I can.I believe that the respect that comes with freedom can bring us a more peaceful world.thanks Neil

We crossed the boarder into Alta.early wed.,we entered Calgary city limits Thurs eve.As many,if not, more honks of support,a truly warm welcome.I blew a wheel and hit the pavement near Canmore. It was caused by the loss of a threaded nut on the front wheel, which then seized.Makes for good video.Minor damage and road rash to me,but it ruined my hemp pants and was a bit freaky.Ive decided it was a fluke as Ive bladed for years and this is the first time that has happened to me.So Im down to 3 wheels per skate and will try to secure a new pair.Loking forward to meeting people in Calgary.I can be reached at 1-604-710-9011.We intend to visit Stephen Harpers office, the local Legions, hemp friendly places etc.as we continue to bring awarness to issues re;feedom and the intended roles of public servants in this dumb-ocracy.more when time allows.thanks, have as much fun as you can till then(without getting caught.)

Having a great time here in Calgary, althouhg Ive not been contacted by anyone from here yet.(1-604-710-9011)Weve gone to several head shops, was warmly received by Tim and his staff at Hemporium, had a nice visit with the guys at the Calgary compassion club and was invited to a blues jam session at Kings head pub.I was given the mic. and was very well recieved.I got to help out with some backing vocals. Then a pro auctioneer helped raise some money for the tour.Still unsure about how to continue, will need to raise some more money, and I may need a new escourt,if any one in Calgary would like a cool adventure, please call me.(Jack should go back to Vernon, even though his heart wants to keep going)I can pay for gas,and some more. Its Sat. eve.and weve been invited to another musical event tonight. We will keep bringing awarness to our issues, thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.May peace and love guide you. Where are the activists in Calgary?Still trying to find support to keep on going. We are told regularly that"no one cares about activism here.People generaly are in fear here of being swarmed by the police.Seed sellers are hard to find since the bust of the B.C. three. Its a shame that there terrorist tactics against our peacfull people are working. Most of the people we meet know a lot of the truths re;cannabis and there is widespread use and acceptance.I will continue to seek the support needed.Ive also had some problems having my web site updated,Im told it should be soon.I look forward to hearing from anyone who can assist in this important effort.

Well the tour is back on track, after two cold nights in the tent,I am now in the company of Kieth Fagin,Grant Kreiger and other cannabis family members.I will be rolling out of here on Saturday after visiting a few more places to talk the talk.Yesterday I happened upon the main Calgary police station just in time for a major press conferance re;some recent murders. When the deputy chief was taking questions I got the nod and asked"if Canada ended drug prohibition,do you think it would have an impact on gang activity" he said" he did not want to get into that debate".I then gave him my handouts.Next up was the lead investigator I got to sk him ,in front of the cameras,"do you agree that its the prohibiton of drugs that fuels gangs?"He chuckled nervously and said that would take all afternoon to discuss.all in all a pretty cool event. Tim at Hemporium has been a big help, letting me store some stuff at his store amongst other things.I must now sign off and prepare for a busy day tommorow. Peace out

We hope to see you on the next leg of our pilgrimage as the tour proceeds through Alberta.
FreedomTour06 is the effort and dream come true of it's members and supporters.

We continue to invite compassionate, progressive and environmentally conscious corporations and individuals to partner with us as we embark on a most important endeavor. Our hemp-based, rollerblading pilgrimage is dedicated to revealing and ending the harms of drug prohibition, restoring our civil liberties and ensuring a future rich in renewable resources for generations to come.

The Freedom Tour will travel cross-country and end in Ottawa on November 12, 2006. We hope it will build momentum and we certainly feel the support. We imagine a caravan of entertainers, ducumentary filmmakers and articulate, outspoken advocates of law reform and social justice traveling from town to town hosting rallies, forums and educational dabates, activley voicing as a human beings, the intrusion against our common civil liberty in the form of prohibition and the war on drugs.

Prohibition hurts everyone. We are taking this message to Parliament Hill and we will be heard !In order to finance our journey, we are continuing to seek sponsorships from companies whose logos, message and merchandise will be featured on this tour across Canada. We currently have a couple copanies who have come forth with sponsorship and we intend to have all the details updated soon. Don't forget to bookmark our page to keep up with the events of the tour!

We have a limited number of sponsorship spots avaliable due to a finite amount of time and advertising space. If you would like to help sponsor this historic event please act quickly! We greatly appreciate any contribution you would be willing to make. All contributions will go to finance the Freedom Tour and to the case of reclaiming our basic civil liberties.

We are also searching for members of the hemp industry who are willing to supply us with earth-friendly merchandise to include in our sponsorship kits. In return, we will promote and sell your products along our pilgrimage route. If monetary compensation is necessary, we may be able to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement. Please consider this valuable opportunity to market your company across the country.

Additionally we are seeking submissions from artist, entertainers and other members of the artistic communities about how illicit drugs have affected their creative processes. Tell us all about it: the good, the bad and the ugly! Even if you cannot provide us with this kind of information, please consider taking a moment of your time writing a short note stating who you are, why you believe this tour is important and why this needs to be successful. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The DEFINITION OF FREEDOM:
In the context of the Charter and the relationship betweeen Section 7 and Section 1 thereof, this test appears to have been continued. In this regard, see the words of Dickson J. as he was then in R. v. BIG M Drug Mart Ltd. 1986, (3d) 385 at pp. 417-418:

Freedom can primarily be characterized by absence of coercion or constraint. If a person is compelled by the state or will of another to a course of action or inaction which he would not otherwise have chosen, he is not acting of his own volition then he cannot be said to be truly free. One of the major purposes of the Charter is to protect within reason, from compulsion or restraint. Coercion includes not only such latent forms of compulsions as commands to act or refrain from acting on pain of sanction, coercion included indirect forms of control which determine or limit alternative courses of conduct available to others. Freedom in the broad sense embraces both the absense of coercion and constraint, and the right to manifest beliefs and practices. Freedom means that, subject to such limitations as are necessary to protect public safety, order, health, morals or the fundamental rights and freedoms of others, no one is to be forced to act in a way contrary to his beliefs or his conscience.
